Lighting on large plants is often an issue and up until now your only options have been to install a large, heavy diesel driven generator on the superstructure of mobile plant OR use lighting towers. There are downsides to these options in relation to both production and safety issues.
The Hydraulic shop has designed a compact lightweight hydraulically driven system, which sits on the catwalk so there are no changes needed to the superstructure of an excavator. It can be fitted to other applications such as drill rigs. One client reports that The Hydraulic Shop solution was well received by the Mines Inspector for the reduction in safety issues.
Our system has the ability to respond instantly to cater for engine RPM fluctuation and alternator load variations, delivering a constant reliable power source – which in turn ensures constant reliable light!
Not only is this light reliable but it is also always focused on the bucket or work area, meaning increased productivity, increased operator satisfaction and a lowered likelihood of accidental damage to truck and excavator.
The expected calculated service life is in excess of 15000 hours, meaning that pump and motor changeouts can occur at the same time as scheduled maintenance on other major components. The maintenance simply involves changing a filter every 1000 hours at a cost of around $100 plus fitters labour.
